Alexandria Women’s Day raises money for Glengarry Hospital

CORNWALL, Ontario – Over 70 vendors were at  l’École secondaire catholique Le Relais on Sunday, March 24 for the 11th annual Women’s Day show.

The event raises money for patients a the Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital (HGMH). Last year, $23,000 was raised at the event to help buy new patient lifts at the HGMH, this year, the organizers hoped to raise funds for new geriatric chairs.

In addition to the vendors, the event also had bingo, lunch, a silent auction and a ladies fashion show with items from Viau Ladies Wear.

The silent auction had over 125 prizes ranging in price from $25 to $300. Additionally, all vendors contributed a prize to the show that were drawn for throughout the day.

The big prize was donated by Air Canada, who gave the show two tickets to anywhere in North America for the show to give away.
