CORNWALL, Ontario – Environment Canada is expecting freezing rain to hit Cornwall and the surrounding region on Saturday, March 30, 2019.

“Snow will develop early Saturday morning with a few centimetres of accumulation possible,” the Environment Canada Weather Statement reads. “Snow is expected to then mix with or change to freezing rain later Saturday morning. Several hours of freezing rain are possible before freezing rain changes to rain in the afternoon.”

According to The Weather Network freezing rain is expected to begin at around 6 a.m. on Saturday, but should turn into rain by noon.

“This precipitation is the result of a low pressure system that will track over Southern Ontario on Saturday. There remains considerable uncertainty in the exact track of this system and the associated precipitation,” states Environment Canada.

There may be periods of freezing rain Saturday evening, with snow on Sunday morning.
