CORNWALL, Ontario – The Canadian Cancer Society of SD&G and Prescott-Russell has launched their annual Daffodil Campaign.
Throughout the month of April, the Canadian Cancer Society will be raising money through door-to-door canvassing, engaging with workplace campaigns, supporting community events and selling daffodil pins to raise money for cancer awareness.
“We know that cancer changes people and that 1 in 2 Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. But a cancer diagnosis doesn’t have to define a person,” says Allison St-Jean, Community Fundraising Specialist, Canadian Cancer Society, SDG & Prescott Russell. “Our goal is to improve the cancer experience by helping people live longer and enhancing their quality of life. We believe that life is bigger than cancer.”
The money raised by the campaign will be used for cancer research, supporting community programs, and advocating cancer related causes.
Some of the supported programs include the Wheels of Hope program which helps cancer patients get to their appointments.
Daffodil pins are available at the Canadian Cancer Society office located at 14 Montreal Rd.
