Man arrested for breaking into convenience store

CORNWALL, Ontario – Marcel Gauvreau, 48, of Cornwall was arrested on April 19, 2019 and charged with the following:

  • Break and enter
  • Disguise with intent
  • Drive while prohibited
  • Possession of a prohibited device for a dangerous purpose
  • Breach of probation for failing to keep the peace x 2

It is alleged on Feb. 22, 2019, the man forced his way into a Second Street convenience store, damaged a window and removed a cash box, all while concealing his identity. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 19, 2019, the man was located during a traffic stop, at which time he was operating a motor vehicle, despite being prohibited from doing so. He was taken into custody, and found to be in possession of brass knuckles. He was charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing.
