Cornwall teen assaulted with knife at Lamoureux Park

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 15-year-old local sustained serious injuries but is in stable condition after being assaulted with a knife on Thursday, May 2.

Shortly after 7 p.m., CPS were called to an aggravated assault in the area of the Cornwall Bandshell at Lamoureux Park (100 Water St.).

It is alleged an altercation took place where a 16-year-old assaulted a 15-year-old using a knife. The 15-year-old was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The 16-year-old male was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Carry a conceal weapon

The CPS Criminal Investigative Division has taken over the investigation and is asking anyone who might have witnessed the altercation or has any information to contact Detective Cst. Kilger at 613-933-5000 ext. 2452 or ext. 2404.

The youth’s name has not been released as per provision with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
