Frost advisory issued for Cornwall area

CORNWALL, Ontario – Environment Canada states that the Cornwall area can expect some frost tonight, Tuesday, May 7, into tomorrow morning.

“Frost may damage some crops in frost-prone areas,” reads the advisory on the Environment Canada website. “Clear skies and calm winds will allow for temperatures to fall to near or slightly below the freezing mark overnight into early Wednesday morning. Take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.”

Temperatures are expected to begin to dip Tuesday night, bottoming out at around zero to minus one degree Celsius at around 3 a.m. Wednesday morning according to The Weather Network.

Temperatures will climb back up on Wednesday, reaching a high of plus 12 before dipping again on Thursday and Friday as the rain returns going into the weekend.

For the weekend, expect temperatures in the mid-teens with sun and clouds.
