CORNWALL, Ontario – The City of Cornwall announced Thursday that boaters will now be required to pay to park their trailers at the Lamoureux Park boat launch behind the RCAF Wing.

According to a City release, revenues from these parking fees will be put towards boat launch improvements.

Currently only daily parking passes are available for $10. A pay-by-plate machine that accepts credit card and cash has been installed near the dock. Soon, seasonal parking permits will be available, including $40 for a month or $100 for a season.

When these extended passes become available, they can be purchases at the Cornwall Civic Complex’s Building and By-Law Department. Until then, boaters who want to purchase an extended pass can retain their daily permit receipts and the cost of those passes will be put towards an extended pass when it becomes available. To be informed about when these passes are available, please call 613-930-2787 ext. 2225.

Cars will not be required to pay for parking. Boat trailers and the vehicles towing them must be parked in designated boat trailer areas, and cars can not occupy these spaces. Overflow parking on grass in the area is permitted, however parking fees must still be paid.
