Merlin Bird Falcon

CORNWALL, Ontario – Cornwall’s infamous Merlin falcon has returned and City officials are asking for the public’s help to locate its nest.

According to a City release, the falcons do not present any danger to the public at this time as they are nesting. The parent falcons may become aggressive when the young leave the nest.

A contracted falconer has been unable to locate the birds that defended their nest near McConnell Ave. and Ninth St. East, as seen in the community last year.

City staff are hopeful that residents can assist the falconer in locating the nest before the fledglings leave. Any residents with information about the location of the falcons are encouraged to call 613-930-2787 ext. 2615 or email jcosgrove@cornwall.ca.
