UNITED COUNTIES of SD&, Ontario – The SD&G detachment of the OPP have announced that they are conducting an investigation alongside the Cornwall Police Service into what they suspect is mail fraud.

“Both police agencies have received several complaints from the public regarding the delivery of unexpected packages containing, what appears to be, court documents,” the OPP state in a media release. “The packages indicate the contents have originated from various police agencies. The CPS and SD&G OPP can confirm these documents did not originate within our services. The investigation by the SD&G OPP Crime Unit is in its early stages.”

If a resident receives one of these packages, they are asked to call the OPP and an officer will collect the package. The SD&G OPP detachment can be reached at 613-534-2223.
