CORNWALL, Ontario – Members of the Sicily Unit 1st Cavalry were outside Canadian Tire on Saturday, June 17 to raise money for the Royal Canadian Legion and their Homeless Veterans Program.

The Sicily Unit 1st Cavalry is based out of Morrisburg, but there were supporters from as far away as Sherbrooke, QC, at Canadian Tire on Saturday to help with the fundraiser.

The fundraiser brought in $850 the last time it was held in Morrisburg, and has been held for seven years. In all, the fundraiser has brought in $17,600.

The Sicily Unit is a motorcycle cavalry unit and on July 27 they will be holding their eighth annual Poker Run motorcycle ride, again in support of the Homeless Veterans Program.

The run starts at 8:30 a.m. at the Iroquois Legion and ends in Morrisburg. Registration is $20 and $10 for a passenger.
