CORNWALL, Ontario – Chad Maxwell and Dave Michaud have been promoted to the rank of Inspector with the Cornwall Police Service (CPS) effective June 10.

Along with the new title, Insp. Michaud has been put in charge of Support Services & Strategic Initiatives Division while Insp. Maxwell will be responsible for the Field Operations Division.

“Insp. Michaud and Insp. Maxwell have proven to be extremely dedicated to the safety of this community and eager to promote innovative strategies to advance current policing practices. I am very proud of their accomplishments to date and I look forward to seeing them transition into their new roles,” said CPS Deputy Chief Shawna Spowart.

Insp. Michaud has been with CPS for 21 years in a variety of capacities including being the Staff Sergeant in charge of Crime Reduction and Community Partnerships. He also represents the CPS on various community committees such as the Downtown BIA, The Situation Table, Local Immigration Partners, Community Safety and Wellbeing, and Youth Wellness Hub.

Insp. Maxwell has been with CPS since 2004. As Staff Sergeant, he was responsible for the Community Patrol Division. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the SDG Boys and Girls Club.
