CORNWALL, Ontario – Alcohol enthusiasts from across the region showed up in large numbers at the Nav Centre for the second annual Beer, Bourbon, BBQ and Blues festival on Saturday, July 13.

With over 2,500 tickets sold and many purchasing tickets at the entrance, the festival is estimated to have reached its approximate capacity of 3,000. Many attendees contended that the festival is one of Cornwall’s summer staple events.

This year’s extravaganza featured over 20 breweries, 10 distilleries and various wineries and cideries. The festival also had mouth-watering Canadian, Texas and Carolina BBQ style goods, provided by Nav Centre chef Luc McCabe and local grill master Matt Drouin.

Paul Deslauriers Band and Juno Award-winning Monkey Junk serenaded the crowd as they mingled with friendly faces and met others from 2 p.m. onwards. Crowds were still swarming booths around 8:30 p.m. at the time in which the festival was to shut down.

Upon purchasing a ticket for $15, all attendees were given a special drinking mug to fill as many times as they wished and take home as a souvenir. Special event chips could be purchased for $3 each, and each alcohol booth would require one chip for each sample.

Games like cornhole and beer pong were played by many, making for an interactive summer party with various options of entertainment for attendees.

A Nav Centre representative was unavailable for comment on the event at time of publication.
