CORNWALL, Ontario – The third annual Family Fun Day at OPG, geared towards entertaining attendees of all ages, impressed many locals on Saturday, July 13, including Adam Pross.
Pross, who had never been to the St. Lawrence Power Development Visitor Centre before, said he saw the event discussed on his social media and was intrigued.
“We thought we would come down and check it out and it turned out to be a really exciting time for all the kids,” said Pross.
This year’s event was bigger and better than ever, with an entire field open for activities. Children could take part in a petting and feeding zoo with alpacas, pigs and more. Various art stations were also set up with bubble paintings and balloons available.
“We started with all the animals and then the bubbles. Then we walked down here to the museum and got a quick tour to see how the dam was put together and also how it all works now…and OPG makes energy,” explained Pross, who felt the facility was very educational and family friendly.
OPG is set to host more exciting and educational events throughout the summer while offering regular tours. The Centre archives the history of our region and its relationship with the St. Lawrence River, showcasing how fundamental the dam’s development was in shaping our community.
