CORNWALL, Ontario – Foot traffic filled Pitt St. on Saturday, Aug. 17 as locals took to the blocks to try food and see vendors at Cornwall Food Fest, presented by and in support of Beyond 21.

Dozens of vendors selling various cuisines and other goods had a successful afternoon according to Jane McLaren, Executive Director of Beyond 21.

“The food lines, artisans and car shows had started to get longer around noon which is great to see,” said McLaren.

Beyond 21 hopes to raise around $20,000 for the organization, with funds going towards their programming.

“The money allows us to bring our participants out of the building and into the community and doing different activities like going to the gym or doing something like bowling,” said McLaren

McLaren said it is always encouraging to see locals in the downtown core supporting an organization like Beyond 21.

“Aside from the money that this will bring in, I love to see all of these people coming out and checking out the local businesses and maybe finding places they didn’t know of before,” said McLaren.
