CORNWALL, Ontario – A fire truck, ambulance, police vehicle, garbage truck, zamboni and more will be on display at Lamoureux Park near the Cornwall Community Museum on Tuesday, Aug. 27 between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. during a Touch-a-Truck event.

“This event is taking place to encourage children and their parents to discover all the ways the City of Cornwall serves them. Touch-a-Truck is also an opportunity to inspire young people to pursue careers offered by the City,” read a City of Cornwall statement.

The free occasion will also feature the renowned firetruck sprinkler that grew in popularity throughout the city this summer, cooling off locals and offering fun for the whole family. The original story on the biggest sprinkler in Cornwall can be read here.

“The City of Cornwall is pleased to invite the young and young at heart to a free end-of-summer event at Lamoureux Park…this event promises to be fun for the whole family!” read a City statement.

“Council, staff, and I hope families can attend and discover all the City of Cornwall has to offer. Children are welcome to get up close to municipal vehicles, and perhaps discover a passion for a future career,” said Mayor Bernadette Clement.
