Man charged for depositing series of forged cheques

CORNWALL, Ontario – Christopher Strome, 36, of Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 17, 2019 and charged with seven counts of fraud under $5000 and seven counts of use forged document. It is alleged in May 2019, the man deposited multiple forged cheques into his account that did not belong to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Sept. 17, 2019, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Oct. 22, 2019.

THREATS

CORNWALL, Ontario – Tyler Christopher, 28, of Long Sault was arrested on Sept. 17, 2019 and charged with uttering threats. It is alleged the man made threats to harm someone known to him and police were contacted to investigate. On Sept. 17, 2019, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

SHOPLIFTING

CORNWALL, Ontario – Kyle Lalonde, 24, of Ottawa was arrested on Sept. 17, 2019 and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged the man attended a Ninth St. business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were subsequently contacted. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Oct. 24, 2019.

MISCHIEF UNDER $5,000, BREACH

CORNWALL, Ontario – Natalie Beauchamp, 48, of Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 17, 2019 and charged with mischief under $5,000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the woman damaged a door that did not belong to her and police were contacted to investigate. She was taken into custody on Sept. 17, 2019, was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, FORCIBLE ENTRY, RESIST POLICE, MISCHIEF

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 32-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Sept. 17, 2019 and charged with domestic assault, forcible entry, resist police, and domestic mischief. It is alleged on Sept. 17, 2019, the man was in his girlfriend’s residence without her permission, where he assaulted her and damaged a door in the residence. Police were contacted and took the man into custody after a brief struggle. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

 FRAUD OVER $5,000, UTTER FORGED DOCUMENT

CORNWALL, Ontario – Fredelle O’Quinn, 45, of Cornwall was arrested on Sept. 18, 2019 and charged with fraud over $5,000 and utter forged document.  It is alleged the woman failed to declare changes in her living arrangements to Ontario Works between August 2016 and October 2017, which resulted in an overpayment of $17,896.58. The woman also allegedly provided a forged document to the agency. On Sept. 18, 2019, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on October 22nd, 2019.
