CORNWALL, Ontario – The Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce has decided to sell it’s office building on the corner of Second and Sydney streets.

In a statement from the Chamber, they explained that they would continue to be a tenant in the building and would continue to operate the Service Ontario office located there, but that landlord responsibilities would be passed on to a new owner.

“We have an engaged board of directors that is making smart decisions and getting work done,” said Chamber President Shannon Lebrun. “Owning our own building has created a unique set of challenges. By selling the building, our staff and our directors will be afforded more time and resources to focus on our core business model – that is being an advocate for our local business community and creating a climate that is conducive to the success of our businesses.”

The building located at 113 Second St. East is 9,300 sq ft spread over three floors and has adjacent parking space.

“The sale will allow the chamber to focus its attention on its members, clients and role in the community at large by passing the landlord duties on to a new owner,” reads a statement from the Chamber.
