CORNWALL, Ontario – For the third year in a row, the Kinsmen Farmers’ Market is calling to all shoppers and local growers to kindly donate fresh produce for the Agapè Centre on Sunday, Oct. 6.

“We encourage anybody who has any extras in their garden to bring, or who buy fresh produce to donate to the Agapè Centre,” said Neil Benjamin, Market Manager.

Benjamin explained that the annual fall harvest assists with food shared to food bank recipients, as well as potential soup kitchen attendees, around Thanksgiving time. Benjamin feels that sometimes those who donate forget the importance of giving fresh produce alongside essential nonperishable items.

“Fresh foods are very important, a staple for health and overall well-being…the aspect of that is sometimes overlooked,” he said.

The Kinsmen Farmers’ Market is hosted outside of St. Lawrence College and sees on average 500 to 800 people in attendance every Sunday.
