CORNWALL, Ontario – Cornwall’s Municipal Works Department is closing part of Ninth St. this afternoon, Wednesday, Oct. 16 to repair a broken watermain.
“Please be advised Municipal Works (Water Works Division) will be closing the eastbound lanes of Ninth St. at Pitt St. today at 12 noon in order to safely complete repairs to a broken water main,” reads a statement from Municipal Works.
No word on how long the repairs will take, but detours will be in place.
“Traffic will have to follow Seventh St. to Sydney St. back to Ninth St. to head eastbound,” Municipal Works states. “Traffic construction signs will be in place.Traffic heading westbound will not be disrupted. We apologize for this inconvenience and we hope to have this area restored as soon as possible.”
