CORNWALL, Ontario – The Cornwall Community Hospital (CCH) has received the highest accreditation possible from Accreditation Canada.

The council bestowed on the CCH an Accreditation with Exemplary Service.

“The onsite survey occurred at the end of September where a team of four surveyors observed the care being provided to the patients, talked to staff, patients and their families and reviewed charts, policies and processes. Of the 2169 quality criteria that were applicable to CCH’s environment, there were only 15 that were unmet which means a 99.3 per cent compliance rate,” reads a statement from the CCH.

Additionally, the CCH met all 29 Required Organizational Practices, which are regulations set in every department at every level.

“I would like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication made by staff and physicians on a continuous basis to provide exceptional care, always. Congratulations on this welldeserved achievement,” said Jeanette Despatie, President and CEO of Cornwall Hospital. “CCH is committed to continually improving our services. That’s why we voluntarily participate in accreditation with Accreditation Canada, to learn what we are doing well, and where we can improve.”

Accreditation Canada reviews more than 7,000 medical sites across Canada.

” The medical staff of CCH are proud of our collaboration, teamwork and culture. We are focused on making patient care exceptional, and we are pleased that Accreditation Canada agrees that we have,” said Dr. Lorne Scharf, Chief of Staff at CCH.
