CORNWALL, Ontario – It looks to be a rainy Halloween as Environment Canada has issued a Rainfall Warning for Cornwall and the surrounding region.

“Rain, at times heavy, is expected to develop this afternoon and continue into tonight,” Environment Canada’s Warning reads. “Total rainfall amounts of 30 to 60 mm are expected with locally higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Rain will taper to scattered showers early Friday morning. Remember pedestrians are more difficult to see when it is dark and raining.”

According to The Weather Network rain is expected throughout the day, with particularly heavy precipitation starting around 5 p.m. and continuing for the rest of the evening.

Winds are also expected to pick-up around that time, reaching a peak of 22 km/h Thursday night.

Winds will be even stronger on Friday, reaching a peak of 46 km/h at around noon.
