CORNWALL, Ontario – Olymel recently announced that it is looking to expand its workforce in Cornwall.

First reported in Choose Cornwall, Olymel is looking to fill 100 positions at its bacon processing facility.

“We are hiring on both shifts (Days and Evenings) right now,” said Heather Jiujias, Human Resources Manager for Olymel. “There is opportunity for advancement, that’s for sure. As people in the general labourer pool gain experience they can look to move towards more skilled positions such as team leaders and machine operators.”

Olymel’s production levels at their Cornwall facility has increased by 24 per cent over the past year.

In 2018, the company added 200 jobs and invested $1  million in two new production lines and has already hired an additional 50 people in 2019 so far bringing their total staff to 668.

“Our growth in Cornwall is a direct result for increased demand for our products, both from our corporate customers and from the general public,” says Dany Gagnon, Plant Manager. “Our team has met that challenge and we have increased production while maintaining the highest quality standards.”

Job postings for Olymel and other local employers can be found on the Choose Cornwall job board.
