CORNWALL, Ontario – The three Bruyere siblings had a Christmas surprise Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 10, from Rachel’s Kids and Cornwall Electric who delivered to them three four ft. tall teddy bears and a handful of gifts.

The bears were a part of Rachel’s Kids’ Bear-A-Thon held earlier this year. The goal of the Bear-A-Thon was to get sponsorship for roughly 100 bears along with gift cards for Kids Korner for deserving children who were nominated by members of the community.

Cornwall Electric chose to sponsor three bears and wanted to find a family with three children who will give the bears a loving home. They found three siblings, Kaiden, 8, Connor, 7, and Willow, 6, who they chose to donate the bears and some gifts to.

“Cornwall Electric really wanted to go above and beyond,” said Rachel’s Kids Executive Director Kim Lauzon. “The Cornwall Electric team wanted to pick out the gifts for the family themselves and they brought the truck to show the boys.”

Members of the Cornwall Electric team brought one of their utility trucks to show Kaiden and Connor, who took great interest in the variety of equipment on board.

“We see all of the great things that Rachel’s Kids is doing in the community,” said Patrick Herrington, Senior Network Administrator at Cornwall Electric. “Cornwall Electric is very community oriented and we wanted to give back. It is great to demonstrate what we are all about.”
