CORNWALL, Ontario – It’s the season for Christmas shopping, and it doesn’t matter how young or old you are when it comes time to check names off of your ‘Nice’ list. At Floral Expressions on Pitt Street in Cornwall, children and youth had the opportunity to do just that with the flower boutique’s Kids Only Christmas Shopping event from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, December 15, 2019.
“The kids come in, they do shopping for family and friends and the parents stay on the outside so they can’t peak,” explained store owner Amanda Gaucher. “They can shop for who they need to shop for, we gift wrap it and off they go.”
Gaucher was inspired by her own experiences at Cornwall Square when she was growing up.
“The kids love it, they come in and they’re all excited,” said Gaucher. “When they get home they have that little secret they can put under the tree, and the parents don’t know. And they actually get a bit of independence for themselves.”
This year’s popular items were gift baskets for moms and dads and tree ornaments.
