Man charged with trafficking Fentanyl

CORNWALL, Ontario – Jean-Marie Lacombe, 57, of Glen Robertson was arrested on Jan. 23, 2020 and charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking of fentanyl and Dilaudid. As a result of an ongoing investigation by the Street Crime Unit, police conducted a traffic stop and located the man in possession of a quantity of fentanyl patches, as well as Dilaudid pills. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT, BREACH

CORNWALL, Ontario – Mohammed Chughtai, 24, of Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 23, 2020 and charged with assault, as well as breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on Dec. 21, 2019, the man assaulted someone known to him and police were contacted to investigate. On Jan. 23, 2020, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Feb. 27, 2020.

THEFT UNDER $5,000

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 25-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Jan. 23, 2020 and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged the man took a quantity of money from his ex-girlfriend, without her permission, and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Feb. 27, 2020. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

DOMESTIC BREACH

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 62-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Jan. 23, 2020 and charged with two counts of breach of court order for contacting his girlfriend. It is alleged twice on Jan. 21, 2020, the man had contact with his girlfriend, despite the conditions of his court order. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Jan. 23, 2020, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 39-year-old Long Sault man was arrested on Jan. 23, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on Jan. 21, 2020 for a domestic mischief offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On Jan. 23, 2020, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the warrant stems from a domestic incident and would identify the victim in the matter.

POSSESSION FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING COCAINE, POSSESSION OF ILLICIT CANNABIS, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME

CORNWALL, Ontario – Tania Derochie, 38, of Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 23, 2020 and charged with the following in relation to the drug warrant executed on the morning of Jan. 21, 2020.

*         Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine

*         Possession of illicit cannabis

*         Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

*         Possession of property obtained by crime

It is alleged during the execution of a drug warrant at a Cumberland St. residence, police located a quantity of cocaine and illicit cannabis, as well as a replica rifle, knife and quantity of Canadian and American currency. On Jan. 23, 2020, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Feb. 25, 2020.

WARRANT

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 28-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on Jan. 23, 2020 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman failed to attend court on Dec. 10, 2019 for a domestic mischief offence and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On Jan. 23, 2020, the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on Feb. 4, 2020. Her name was not released as the warrant stems from a domestic incident and would identify the victim in the matter.

SHOPLIFTING

CORNWALL, Ontario – Jessica Wright, 24, of Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 23, 2020 and charged with theft under $5,000. It is alleged the woman attended a Ninth St. business and removed merchandise, making no attempt to pay for the items as she left the store. She was stopped by a Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 3, 2020.
