CORNWALL, Ontario – Thursday afternoon saw a fairly rare sight as two brothers faced off in the Ontario Curling Championships in Cornwall at the Civic Complex as the Camm brothers went head-to-head.

Matt Camm, Cornwall resident who Seconds for Team Epping, went up against his brother Jason, Skip of Team Camm.

The two teams went head-to-head Thursday afternoon in want turned into a tight 10-ender game.

The two brothers grew up practicing with one another, and had the chance to play together on the same team once in their careers.

Both raised in Rockland, Jason Camm now plays for Navan, but says he comes to Cornwall regularly to practice with his brother at the Cornwall Curling Club.

Their game against one another ended at 5-4 in favour of Team Epping.

“We always knew it was going to be close,” said Jason.

“We wanted to take them to the last rock,” added Matt.

Matt Camm said he was excited for the weekend and that he and the rest of Team Epping were getting ready for their match against Team Howard on Thursday night.

“Jason really gave us an eye opener this afternoon,” said Matt.

The Camms were not the only ones with family ties that were competing on the ice in Cornwall for the Ontario Curling Championships.

Team Howard is skipped by Glenn Howard with his son Scott playing Third and Team Murphy is skipped by Jetsyn Murphy with mother Janet as vice.
