Teen charged with robbery with a weapon

NORTH DUNDAS, Ontario – On Jan. 30, 2020 at approximately 7:18 p.m, members of the SDG Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to disturbance on Mill Street in North Dundas Township.

The investigation has revealed that a youth approached another youth and displayed an edged weapon towards the victim. The accused youth demanded the victim’s property and fled the area.

Officers responding to the call located the accused later in the evening at a residence.

The victim suffered no injuries.

A 17-year-old youth of North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with:

– Robbery with weapon

– Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

– Fail To Comply with Probation (YCJA)

The accused was held in custody (bail) and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of Justice in Cornwall on January 31, 2020.
