SOUTH DUNDAS, Ontario – An 80-year-old victim of a residential fire was transported to hospital with life threatening injuries early Friday morning.

On Friday, Feb. 21 around 3:20 a.m., SDG OPP officers responded to a residential fire on St Lawrence St. in South Dundas Township.

Officers were provided information that there was a person inside the structure. The man was able to escape the residence with the assistance of neighbours.

South Dundas Fire Department members attended the scene to extinguish the fire.

Investigators from the Ontario Fire Marshall (OFM), assisted by SDG OPP officers and SDG OPP crime unit members are continuing to investigate the incident.
