Six drivers stopped for excessive speeding

UNITED COUNTIES of SD&G, Ontario – On May 21-26, 2020 Ontario Provincial Police officers conducted speed measuring enforcement in SD&G and intercepted several vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicles were impounded and their driver’s permits seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy and were charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

– May 21, 2020 at 4:40 p.m (South Stormont) a vehicle was stopped traveling 158 km/h (100km/h zone) (Highway 401 ) – 21-year-old driver from Ontario.

– May 21, 2020 at 7:49 p.m (South Dundas) a vehicle was stopped traveling 174km/h (100km/h zone) (Highway 401 ) – 20-year-old driver from Anjou, Quebec.

-May 23, 2020 at 11:24 p.m (North Stormont) a vehicle was stopped traveling 133km/hr ( 80km/hr zone)(Highway 138) – 56 year old driver from Orleans, Ontario.

– May 24, 2020 at 9:03 a.m (South Stormont) a vehicle was stopped traveling 157 km/h (100km/h zone) (Highway 401 ) – 43-year-old driver from Ramla, Isreal.

-May 24, 2020 at 10:56 p.m (South Dundas) a vehicle was stopped traveling 160km/h (100km/h zone) (Highway 401 ) – 23-year-old driver from Lachine, Quebec.

-May 23, 2020 at 7:24 a.m (South Glengarry) a vehicle was stopped traveling 135km/hr ( 80km/hr zone)(County Road 20) – 34 year old driver from South Glengarry, Ontario.
