The show must go on: CCHF Radiothon goes virtual!

How times have changed. Back in March, our Hospital Foundation made the difficult decision to postpone our yearly Corus Caring Hearts Radiothon. Traditionally, we’ve welcomed our community to come together each April and raise funds for urgently needed equipment benefitting patient care. Stationed in CCH’s atrium, Radiothon Day unites us in support of local healthcare – but how do we bring people together when physical distancing keeps us apart?

To-date, we’ve been more fortunate than larger centres across Ontario when it comes to COVID-19 cases, but our hospital must remain vigilant to provide excellent care for patients, staff and our community, no matter the circumstance — especially given CCH is the only hospital outside of Ottawa in our region with ventilator capacity.

So, the show must go on, in a different way. This year, we’ll come together virtually on Thursday, August 20th from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. — over the airwaves, via Facebook, on our CCHF website, through the phone lines and at various drop-off points across the area. And, our fundraising will support urgent equipment needs to keep our front lines, patients, and community safe during COVID-19.

Preparing for COVID-19 requires an army of equipment from monitors to mattresses, stretchers to stethoscopes, computers to commodes and more! These changes would normally require years of planning & saving. That’s why this year, more than ever, if you’re interested or able to stand by our cause, your help matters.
So, how can you participate? From now until August 20th, our team is collecting online donations at www.cornwallhospitalfoundation.ca. Or, follow live from home on Radiothon Day, Thursday August 20th:
