Man arrested for possessing brass knuckles

Cornwall, ON – Jonathan Giasson, 33, of Kahnawake, QC was arrested on November 19th, 2020 and charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of release order for operating a motor vehicle and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on November 19th, 2020, the man was operating a motor vehicle despite his conditions. The man was located during a traffic stop and taken into custody, at which time he was found to be in possession of brass knuckles. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 2nd, 2021.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – Tina Benedict, 56, of Cornwall was arrested on November 19th, 2020 and charged with assault with a weapon. It is alleged during an altercation with a woman known to her on November 18th, 2020, she struck the woman with a plate and police were contacted to investigate. On November 19th, 2020 she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court January 21st, 2021.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Kevin Rice, 49, of Ottawa was arrested on November 19th, 2020 and charged with breach of release order for failing to sign in to police. It is alleged on November 17th, 2020, the man failed to call in to police, despite his conditions, and an investigation ensued. On November 19th, 2020 he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

FAIL TO ATTEND FOR FINGERPRINTS, PERSONATION

Cornwall, ON – Melinda Cook, 23, of Akwesasne was arrested on November 19th, 2020 and charged with failing to attend for fingerprints, as well as personation with intent to avoid arrest. It is alleged the woman failed to attend police headquarters for fingerprints on July 20th, 2020 and identified herself as another person to a police officer on November 1st, 2020. An investigation ensued and on November 19th, 2020, she was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on December 29th, 2020.
