Three Minutes with the Mayor of South Stormont
Bryan MacGillis, Mayor of South Stormont.

The Township of South Stormont is always seeking ways to better engage and inform our residents. This week, we’ve launched a new platform to help us do just that!

“Speak Up South Stormont” is an online public engagement portal that will allow residents to engage with Township staff and other members of the community, share ideas for consideration, and participate in Township consultations that will help guide Council decisions.

To kick off the launch of speakupsouthstormont.ca, we’re asking residents to show their creative side by uploading photos of their sidewalk chalk art. We’ve even purchased 100 packs of chalk to help you get started. If you need chalk to participate, simply visit the Township Office during regular business hours to receive a tote bag of goodies, including some chalk.

I encourage all our residents to join the conversations on Speak Up South Stormont, as we intend to use this as an important tool to gather public feedback on Township initiatives and crowdsourcing ideas for ways to improve our community.

To participate, visit www.speakupsouthstormont.ca, answer a few simple registration questions, verify your email address, and you are ready to join the conversation, make comments, ask questions, and use all of the interactive tools we have to offer.

We’re committed to giving the public opportunities for some fun, engaging projects, such as photo contests, good neighbour shout outs, and showcasing some of your favourite locations in South Stormont. We’re also committed to seeking your valuable input on certain projects and making sure you stay up-to-date on Township initiatives in the future.

While Speak Up South Stormont will not be our only means to connect with our residents, it will be a simple, efficient way of relaying and collecting information. Particularly in a world where in-person public meetings have become more difficult to conduct.

So, head over to Speak Up South Stormont. We can’t wait to hear from you!

Sincerely,
Bryan McGillis, Mayor of South Stormont
