ALEXANDRIA, Ontario – This evening, Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2021, Steven Gaudet of Finch, ON, will be ordained into the Catholic priesthood for the Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall by Archbishop Marcel Damphousse at St. Finnan’s Basilica in Alexandria.
After graduation from high school, Gaudet attended St. Peter’s Seminary where he received a B. A. Philosophy and Masters of Divinity Advanced.
“Steven completed his pastoral year at St. Mary’s Parish in Williamstown, followed by his ordination to the transitional diaconate, the final step before ordination to the priesthood. Since the spring, he has been assisting Fr. Jonathan Blake at St. Finnan’s Basilica,” reads a statement from the Archdiocese.
Gaudet is the third young man to be ordained into the priesthood in Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall over the past year and next week, his brother Marc will be ordained to the transitional diaconate.
