OPP investigating suspicious fires in North Dundas

(NORTH DUNDAS, ON) – The Stormont Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Long Sault Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is seeking the public’s assistance in the investigation of two separate suspicious fires.

On April 3, 2022, shortly before 1:00 a.m., officers responded to a mattress fire in an alley near Winchester Main Street in Winchester North Dundas Township. The North Dundas Fire Department extinguished the fire. Fire department advised that there were signs the fire had been deliberately set.

On April 3, 2022, shortly before 1:00 am, officers also responded to a fire at a child care building located at the Winchester public school in Winchester North Dundas Township. The fire was rapidly extinguished minimizing damage. They were also signs that the fire had also been deliberately set.
