CORNWALL, Ontario – The Cornwall Police Service (CPS) is requesting public assistance regarding a break and enter that took place at an Amelia St. business on April 30 at approximately 11:30 pm.

On May 1, an 18-year-old Cornwall man was arrested for breaking and entering and breaching his youth probation for the above-mentioned incident. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

The CPS is requesting the public’s assistance in locating property that was taken from the Amelia St. business, which may have been abandoned. The property is believed to be in a large bag containing numerous laptops and electronics. The CPS is asking the public to turn in the property should it be located.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Detective Constable Patrick Huygen by calling 613-933-5000 ext. 2785 or ext. 2404 to leave anonymous information.

It should be noted the man’s name was not released as the conditions stem from when the man was a youth and is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
