Alternative vertical transport, Christmas concerts, 3 weeks to “The Day”

Did you know that Cornwall Square management provides customers who have mobility issues with alternative access between mall levels due to the mall passenger elevator being out of service?  A recently installed poster on the passenger elevator door provides patrons in need of assistance with 3 phone numbers to call for assistance in getting from the main level to the upper level or the reverse.  We have been assisting customers for the past few weeks who are mobility challenged by using the mall’s freight elevator to transport people with walkers, or in wheelchairs, or using mobility scooters or people who use mobility assist items such as canes to go between mall levels.  People are not permitted to use the freight elevator without mall personnel accompanying them as the freight elevator door system is cumbersome to open and close and it can be very easy to injure oneself it one was to try and navigate the freight elevator alone if mobility challenged.

Did you know that the Schindler Elevator Company is having to have the required parts to repair the mall’s passenger elevator custom made abroad as those parts are no longer available as a shelf item?  We continue to hope for a final repair soon to get the passenger elevator back into service.

You need to know that Cornwall Square management is being advised that the passenger elevator is not designed to accommodate mobility scooters, hence when the passenger elevator does come back into service, mobility scooters will have to find alternative means to go between mall levels.  We are looking into a couple of options.

Did you know that Cornwall Square will be hosting 3 Christmas musical performances during the month of December?  On Saturday, December 7 and Sunday, December 15, the Octaves Band will entertain customers from 1:00pm to 2:30pm.  The Octaves Band will set up on the upper level, in front of the Food Hall  area.  On Saturday, December 14, Jo Anne Laurin will perform her “Christmas in the Valley” concert at 1:30pm also on the upper level, in front of the Food Hall.

Did you know that aside from SUBWAY returning to the Cornwall square FOOD HALL by early March 2025, we anticipate making an announcement within the next couple of weeks of yet another restaurant coming to the Food Hall by June 2025?

Did you know that there are 3 weeks left until Christmas Day?  HO! HO! HO!
