It was so exciting to host our annual MPP-MP Community Picnic held on Sunday July 23rd at the home of the Lost Villages Museum. The Lost Villages is a real gem for our community and it was nice to see everyone in attendance on that sunny day. Thank you to former MPP Jim Brownell for his assistance in securing the beautiful venue for Eric & I. I would like to thank the nearly 600 people who came out to visit, chat and eat together. I am grateful for the supporters, family and friends who came out in support of such a great event. I would also like to thank former MPP for Stormont- Dundas and South Glengarry Jim McDonell, former MP Guy Lauzon, as well as the local municipal politicians for attending.
Jacqueline Milner, who ran under the Green party platform, attended the BBQ as well. We were able to have conversation around the environment, housing, health care, as well as other local topics of interest. Many other conversations were had with constituents, including concerns with health care, which allowed sharing of information on many programs & legislation passed throughout the last session to ensure our health systems recover from the pandemic. It was great to see you there and to have an opportunity to talk with you.
I want to extend a big thank you to the young talented Nolan Stoqua for putting on a great show. We were all amazed with his gifted voice and it was excellent entertainment throughout the afternoon.
It was a wonderful day filled with music, delicious food and conversation. The beef on a bun was a huge success. Thanks to Leatherworks for the excellent food. Some tasty treats were also provided from Stormont Milk Producers with delicious ice cream treats. Desserts were generously provided by the Cornwall Filipino-Canadian Society. Sip & Scoop donated over 200 tasty bubble teas. Pop N’ Fluff, one of the Summer Company entrepreneurs, had cotton candy and popcorn on hand. It was great to see the families and their children enjoying the bouncy castles that were on site. There was much laughter and fun times for all on that day. Thanks to Tribeck Inflatables for providing the castles.
Thank you Stormont, Dundas and South Glengarry for all of your support for our annual event. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make our picnic a huge success.
