Did you know that Mother Nature appeared to ignore the groundhog prognosticators from February 2nd. Snubbing those furry rodents and their forecast, Mother Nature countered their early Spring chorus with the dump of snow last Thursday. Mother Nature can flex her array of storms, sunshine and anger whenever she feels like doing so.
Did you know that on Friday April 26th, Saturday April 27th and Sunday April 28th Cornwall Square will celebrate “Cornwall Motor Speedway Days”. At submission time for this column, it appears that Cornwall Square will accommodate close to 15 vehicles from the Cornwall Motor Speedway. The vehicles will be on display throughout the main level of the mall during Mall Hours on Friday April 26th from 9:30am to 7:00pm, Saturday April 27th from 9:30am to 5:30pm and on Sunday April 28th from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Raymond Lavergne and the Cornwall Motor Speedway team are planning some on-site events during the 3-day period and Cornwall Square is excited to provide our customers from all over the Eastern Ontario area an opportunity to get up close with these vehicles in what can best be described as a less noisy environment one normally sees these vehicles. More details will appear over the next 2 weeks as this event gets finalized.
Did you know that Mother’s Day is on Sunday May 12th this year and once again as in past years, Cornwall Square will host a Mother’s Day Week event for the week preceding the BIG DAY. From Saturday May 4th to Sunday May 12th, there will be a MOTHER’S DAY display in Centre Court on the main level of the mall where people can come and either take selfies or during the 2 weekends (May 4th and 5th as well as May 11th and 12th) a photographer will be on hand to take photos at the customers request. As Cornwall Square has done over the last 2 years, we win once again run a “My Mom is the Best Because…..” Essay Contest of 50 words or less during the 9-day period and award prizes to the top 3 entries. Please, only one entry per person and entries can be deposited in the mailbox that will be located at the perimeter of the display. Judging will be done on Monday May 13th and the 3 prize winners will be contacted to come and pick up their prize and have their photo taken. This year, prizes will be awarded to the top three entries regardless of the age of the party submitting the entry. Good Luck to all.
