The transformation of our community during this most wonderful time of year is uplifting.
So many of us are outside – exercising, tending to backyard gardens, and enjoying our vibrant downtown. Summer is truly a time of celebration.

Graduates are experiencing their achievement quite differently – whether it’s completing elementary school or high school, or earning a diploma or degree.

The City of Cornwall is proud to recognize all grads with a bilingual banner on the Lamoureux Park clock tower. We hope it helps our finissants and finissantes recognize that this is an occasion worth celebrating.
We are also celebrating the three recipients of the Ontario Winter Games Legacy Awards: Annika Setterington of

Holy Trinity Secondary School, Nicholas Guindon of École secondaire La Citadelle, and Nicholas Oeggerli of Char-Lan District High School. These young athletes have distinguished themselves through athletic excellence.

Entrepreneurial young people are launching new businesses through the Summer Company program. I am impressed with their creative ideas, and ability to adapt during this challenging time:

• Paige Aubin – Etched in Time Headstone Services
• Jeremy Hartle – Hominid Clothing
• Ved Patel – VTA Computer Customs
• Josh St. Pierre – Done Right Clean Up
• Alyssa Wensink – Fable Thrifts

Finally, regardless of their age, Cornwallites can celebrate summer with the opening of outdoor pools and the Aquatic Centre. Have no doubt – we are still living in a pandemic. I hope for everyone’s cooperation with regulations that are in place for both your safety, and the safety of our lifeguards.

You can learn more about outdoor pools, splash pads, and other City facilities at www.Cornwall.ca/playduringcovid.
From all of us at the City of Cornwall, I’d like to wish you a safe and fun summer.
