Winter Home Comfort Tips

This time of year, we are all busy. So rather than go on about the market, this seemed like the perfect time to share some winter home comfort tips.

Humidifier

Winter is always a very dry time. If you have a humidifier, it is time to use it. First, make sure you clean it and clean or change the filter. You want to do your best to make sure your humidifier is not clogged. CLR or a cleaning agent of that nature is perfect for cleaning it out and having it winter ready in no time.

Windows

Let your windows breathe. What does this mean? Make sure your curtains and blinds re not always closed. Having proper air circulation will ensure there is a lot less mildew and will help your window seals last longer. It does not hurt every now and then to wipe down the humidity off the windows. If your screens are on the inside, take them down for the winter, it adds a little more light in.

Furnace

If you have not been doing so regularly, now is the perfect time to replace the furnace filter.

Keeping the air clean in the house lowers the risk of spreading germs and reduces asthma and other respiratory issues.

Speaking of filters, did you know if your fridge has a water dispenser, it probably has a filter? Might be a good time to look into seeing if it needs cleaning or replacing.

Preparing for Winter Storms

It is important in the winter to keep an eye on the weather and what is expected. Try to stay 3 days in advance. This gives you plenty of time to prepare for the freezing rain or snow, so that you have what you need at home and do not need to go out on those stormy days.

And finally,

Wishing you all a prosperous, healthy New Year! All the best for 2023!
