CORNWALL, Ontario – The city was abuzz with this Saturday, Nov. 18 as folks geared up for the 46th annual Santa Claus Parade.
With over 50 floats heading westward down Second Street, there was a lot for spectators to take in. While temperatures dipped substantially, Mother Nature showed some mercy, holding off the winter blizzard for the extent of the parade.
Children and adults, alike were bundled up in toques and parkas, as tiny mitten-clad hands clasped cups of hot cocoa. Mom of three, Tanya MacLean says that keeping the kids warm and occupied is the secret to a successful parade.
“It’s a cold night, and it’s even colder for little ones,” said MacLean. “We’re just trying to keep everyone happy, and so far, we’ve been successful!”
With kids raking in the candy canes, and Christmas music blaring through the speakers of each passing float, it’s safe to assume that the festive feeling was alive and well in Cornwall.
