CORNWALL, Ontario – Tickets are now on-sale for the United Way’s Italian Night which is taking place Friday, Jan. 12 at the Cornwall Legion.

Tickets are going fast. They are $25 each and are available at Rona, the Cornwall Legion and through the United Way at 613-330-6432 or by email at lori@unitedwaysdg.com

This is the first year that the Italian Night fundraiser will be supporting the United Way. The event was previously organized by, and supported, the MS Society.

Karen Torrie-Racine of the local MS Society Chapter is retiring, as are all of the Leadership Volunteers after 35 years of community fundraising. The MS Society decided to pass along their annual event to the United Way.

“The United Way supports 14 important community programs,” explained Racine.

“We’re thrilled,” said United Way Executive Director Lori Greer. “I’ve attended many times. It’s a terrific event. We’re shifting what we’re doing to have events outside of our usual Fall push and this lines up with that.”

The United Way and volunteers from the MS Society will be working together this year to make sure that this Italian Night is another big success.

Once again Casa Paolo will be providing some of the delicious pasta sauce and Casa Paolo is one of Italian Night’s corporate sponsors alongside Rona Home Centre, the Sign Factory, Riley’s and Tim Hortons.

Entertainment this year will be provided by the returning Kealey-Greer All-Star Band.

There are 300 tickets available and they go quick. Last year’s Italian Night was completely sold out.
