CORNWALL, Ontairo – The Cornwall Fire Dept. headquarters brought Sparky out on Saturday to help raise funds and provisions for the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

“They are always in need of a lot of things; money, dog food, cat food, kitten food, towels, buckets, and mops. Basically, everything they need to run the animal shelter,” explained Andy Kinstler with the Fire Dept.

Several officers with the Fire Dept. stood ready with their doors open to meet the public and help the volunteers from the OSPCA get the stuff they need in order to run the shelter at its maximum efficiency.

“The OSPCA is a bunch of volunteer people that need all the help they can get. We have a pet problem in Cornwall and the OSPCA does all it can to make the situation better,” said Andy.

Funds raised will go towards the Society’s programs here in Cornwall.
