CORNWALL, Ontario – Bereaved Families of Ontario – Cornwall provide important support and understanding during the most difficult time in people’s lives. They receive no outside funding and rely on donations from the community and fundraisers like their annual Gala Dinner.

The gala will be taking place at the Best Western on Saturday, Sept. 15. Entertainment will be provided by stand-up comedian Derek Seguin with dinner music from Moe Lemieux and Peter Kirkpatrick.

Guests will have a chance to bid on some excellent prizes available through a silent auction. Some of the prizes include jewellery from Pommier Jewellers, tickets to the Upper Canada Play House and a free night at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino along with a $50 gift certificate.

Bereaved Families of Ontario – Cornwall are hoping for around 200 people to attend this year’s event.

Tickets are $90 per person and are available at the Bereaved Families office at 216 Montreal Rd. Ticket reservations can also be made via email at info@bfocornwall.ca

Money raised by the gala will go to support programs offered by Bereaved Families including closed and open group sessions, one-on-one sessions and sessions for children who are experiencing grief and loss.

Close to 200 individuals use Bereaved Families Ontario – Cornwall over the course of a year.

On Aug. 22, Bereaved Families will be holding an open house at their office. Those who attend the open house will also have the opportunity to purchase tickets for the gala.
