CORNWALL, Ontario – The second annual Suds & Sap Festival in support of Rachel’s Kids House of Hope saw a growing support.
Taking place on Saturday, Feb. 29 the self-styled ‘most Canadian beer festival in all of Eastern Ontario’ expected roughly 450 attendees to come to the Cornwall Civic Complex throughout the afternoon and into the evening.
The guests were treated to a variety of tasty treats and a selection of wines, beers, ciders and more.
Kim Lauzon, Executive Director of Rachel’s Kids House of Hope said she was pleased to see their newest fundraising event grow in popularity.
“I see that there’s growth, I see that our ticket sales are climbing. More vendors are signing up with us. The feedback we are getting from the vendors is amazing and the community seems to be embracing it,” she said.
The Suds & Sap tickets were $70 each and came with branded Suds & Sap cups as well as samples from all of the alcohol vendors.
All money raised at the event will go towards supporting Rachel’s Kids House of Hope. Last year’s event raised over $20,000 for the centre.
“It all goes towards Rachel’s Kids,” said Lauzon. “It can go towards small moments of joy, helping hands or towards things we need at the Centre. It goes into the pot and helps us overall.”
In addition to the food and beverages, there was also live Celtic music.
