CORNWALL, Ontario – The Boys and Girls Club (BGC) has a new kitchen at their Henry St. location thanks to goeasy Ltd.

The kitchen is a part of goeasy’s easybites program through which they are pledging to provide 100 kitches to the Boys and Girls Club of Canada by 2023.

“The kitchen is a home away from home,” said BGC Executive Director Jacquie Richards. “Some of the best stories come out around the kitchen.”

Richards explained that they applied to easygo to be one of the BGCs to be considered for the easybites program.

“We are just one of the communities this year that were lucky to be chosen,” she said. “One of the most popular programs we are asked to deliver are cooking programs.”

goeasy came in and installed the kitchen within four to five days.

“As a long-standing supporter of Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada, we are excited to continue opening new easybites kitchens like the one in Cornwall, ON,” says David Ingram, President and Chief Executive Officer, goeasy Ltd. “Our company and employees have contributed over $1.2 million in support of BGCC since becoming a national partner in 2004. We believe in the great programs that Boys and Girls Clubs provide to thousands of children, youth and families across Canada.”

BGC serves 400 local youth per day during the school year at eight locations across the area. With this new kitchen, the location on Henry St. will be able to provide a better range and quality of service to the kids.
