CORNWALL, Ontario – Farmers, crafters, growers, and local businesses came to St. Lawrence College’s Parking lot for the first Sunday of the Kinsmen Farmers Market, an event that will run till October 28, 2018.
Monty Yancey with the Kinsmen opened the market this morning at 11 am on Sunday, May 28, 2018, aided by volunteers and vendors.
“When I got involved with the Kinsmen, I realized this can be more than a farmers market but a platform for social change,” said Monty, “If you want the change to happen you need to give it a place to start.”
Included as one of the stands in the market is an aid organization that changes weekly allowing for patrons to learn about issues facing the community.
Even restaurants will come and purchase products from the vendors at the market.
This year, the Kinsmen plan to have more themed days at the market, like a Fathers Day and Meat Smokers Day.
