CORNWALL, Ontario – It’s that time of year again, folks.

The snow has come and gone, and you can almost smell the curds and gravy as La Poutine Week fast approaches.

In its fourth year, the beloved local event is a foodie’s dream, quickly becoming a staple in Cornwall’s spring calendar of events. Featuring an assortment of home-grown restaurants poutine creations, guests can taste the variety and vote for their favourites.

Seaway Food Festival judges will also be on hand giving out awards for ‘Poutine of the Year’ as well as ‘Jury Award.’  La Poutine Week is set to take place between May 24-May 28 in Cornwall and area at participating restaurants.

“Last year’s experience was phenomenal! We had so many amazing poutines that were created by our local restaurants,” said Seaway Food Festival Director, Sebastien Manigat. “Giving consumers the opportunity to vote and engage in such a fun platform really brought the week to a whole new level! In five days, we received over 1,000 votes and sold over 1,500 poutines.”

This year major cities like Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Brooklyn (New York), Sydney (Australia), and London (England) will be participating.

“This is great for the customers and the restaurants, but even better for the city,” added Manigat.

Last year, Chef In A Bun took home the People’s Choice Award, with Eight Zero Zero winning the Jury Award, and the former Bar Q was crowned Poutine Of The Year.

More details will be released in the coming weeks including the list of participating restaurants, poutine details, and the Jury Award.
