CORNWALL, Ontario – The McPhail family is expecting to see 300 trick-or-treaters and Halloween enthusiasts tonight, Wednesday, Oct. 31.

From 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., community members are encouraged to visit the home located at 503 James St. in Cornwall. The property features inflatable monsters, a graveyard, light projections, jack-o’-lanterns, fake smoke and music provided by a DJ.

“We started off because my son loved giving out candy every time. So we just said… ‘instead of trick-or-treating, let’s start doing something at our house,’” said Melissa McPhail.

“Every year it has just gotten bigger, and bigger,” she added.

This is the first year that the family applied and received a permit to close the road for the occasion. The McPhail’s wanted to ensure the safety of everyone in attendance.

“We love Halloween,” said Melissa.
