WILLIAMSTOWN, Ontario – Williamstown resident and long-time sportscaster Randy Tieman passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, Nov. 16. He was 64.

Tieman was a long time sports personality for CTV Montreal, having a career that spanned 34 years.

Born in Exeter, ON and having studied broadcast journalism at Fanshawe College, Tieman’s career saw him work at CFCF in Montreal and CJOH in Ottawa before finding his home at CTV Montreal. Tieman served as Sports Director in Ottawa and Montreal and hosted the midday radio show for TSN 690 for three years.

Tieman was also involved in sports in his community, having coached his kids hockey and baseball teams.

The Tiemans lived in Williamstown for more than 20 years.

Randy Tieman is survived by his wife of 30 years, Liane, his children Gabrielle Tieman-Lee (Jason), Jesse, Dennis and Harry and his brother Barry (Diane).

Visitation will be held at Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 46 Oak St., Lancaster (613-347-3629) on Friday Nov. 23, 2018 from 1 – 4 p.m.

A Celebration of Randy’s Life will be held at 4 p.m. with eulogies and stories. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations to the Jewish General Hospital Foundation-Cancer Treatment, (3755 Côte-Sainte-Catherine Rd., A-107, Montréal, QC, H3T 1E2 or www.jghfoundation.org) would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Randy a tree will be planted in a memory woods.
